Improving on the previous flagship Fiio X5, the new X7 implements some key changes to the device which make it a lot more user-friendly and functional. The largest of these changes is the decision to replace the previous software with Android KitKat. Apart from this, the device features a quad-core Rockchip RK3188 SoC for audio processing, and the ESS ES9018S digital-analogue converter, which is capable of working with 32-bit/384kHz audio files.
It also has a 4-inch 480x800 capacitive touch screen, a 3500mAh battery, 1GB RAM, and 32GB internal memory. The expandable storage slot supports up to 128GB microSD cards, allowing for over 150GB of total storage space for your music. And like its predecessors, the Fiio X7 supports all popular audio formats, including FLAC, WAV, ALAC, MP3, OGG and more. It also supports new formats such as DSD, DXD, and PCM.
The device is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatible as well, allowing for more connectivity options. The Android operating system can be used either in typical Android mode, or in Pure Music mode, which locks out all functions except the music player. The device is built with aluminium alloy for the casing, for improved durability.
The Fiio X7 is available now for Rs. 42,299 here, and is expected to appeal to high-end headphone lovers and audiophiles looking to bolster their premium audio set up. Stay tuned for our detailed review of the Fiio X7.
