Logitech has brought a new wireless gaming headset at CES 2017 geared towards pro-gamers. It’s called the Logitech G533 – not the trendiest of names, to be honest – and it’s got all the bells and whistles that you’d expect from an earpiece of its variety.
The $150 (about Rs. 10,000) headset is capable of DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound, and a patent-pending audio driver, claims Logitech, called Pro-G. Logitech says the 7.1 channel support on the G533 brings a fineness to positional audio that cannot be found elsewhere, and moreover, you can customise the volume on each channel to suit your hearing.
It lasts for 15 hours on a single charge, so you should be able to knock out a marathon gaming session without having to worry about the battery. The Logitech G533's got a volume control roller and mic mute button on the left side, and you can also make use of the auto mute feature by just folding the mic. Logitech has also made improvements to noise cancellation and EQ tuning for clear audio.
The Logitech G533 delivers its wireless audio up to 15 metres, so you can move about with ease without worrying about the signal dropping out. It makes use of an ultra-low latency wireless connection, which results in “virtually no lag between your audio and your game, as well as lag free performance while watching movies and streaming media,” according to Logitech.
The Swiss manufacturer says the G533’s “lightweight over-the-ear design, with sports mesh ear pads” means gamers can easily wear it for extended periods of time, though that claim will only be clear once they’re available for purchase. Speaking of that, the G533 will release later this month around the world.
