Bose, the United States-based audio firm, has unveiled the Hearphones which is being marketed as "conversation-enhancing headphones." The new audio device from Bose is being seen as the company's first hearing aid headphone.
The company has not announced any pricing at the moment but is inviting select people to the Bose Corporate Centre facilities to demo the Bose Hearphones. The company has also launched a dedicated website that has few details about the new Hearphones.
The all-new Hearphones appear as a new version of the Bose QuietControl 30 in-ear noise-cancelling headphones. One of the biggest highlights of the Bose Hearphones are they sport directional microphones which help users focus on conversations in noisy places. The headphones also let users focus, amplify, or reduce real-world sounds to the level a user wants.
The Hearphones come with active noise reduction that can improve listening comfort of conversations and take the edge off the background noise. Apart from the Hearphones, Bose has also unveiled a companion app for iOS users named Bose Hear, which is now available to download via the App Store.
The app listing notes, "Companion app for Bose Hearphones conversation-enhancing headphones to let you hear the world on your terms." It also specifically notes that the companion app is not compatible with Bose QC30 Headphones.
Bose recommends wearers to use the Hearphones with Bose Hear app which lets customise the sound for the user. The app comes with some presets that lets users save specific audio settings for different environments like a focused conversation, group conversation, music, television, aeroplanes, the gym, and the doctor's office, among others.
