Apart from refreshing the MacBook lineup, Apple is also expected to launch a new app which will act as a TV guide for Apple TV. The new app will aggregate and show suggestions of sitcoms, movies and other entertainment content from other apps and services.

USA Today reports that Apple will make this announcement at its California event tomorrow. Citing an anonymous source, the report claimd this app is being called as the “Watch List” among executives. It will act as a TV guide of sorts, and will work with Apple TV as well as other iOS devices like the iPhone. It will show content from other streaming services and apps, and then allow users to access them through deep links. The report also indicates that Netflix won't be a part of this aggregated list.

This new guide will help discover new shows and other entertainment content through the app. It will also give recommendations, for example, people who subscribe to FX Networks will be recommended to watch Atlanta.

Apple is also expected to launch the new MacBook Pro with significant upgrades. The laptop is said to come with a Magic Toolbar that sits on the keyboard replacing the function keys. It shows key details of things that are browsed onscreen, and the Touch ID sits seamlessly next to the Oled display. Touch ID is expected to be used to unlock the MacBook Pro as well as make payments via Apple Pay.

Apart from this, Apple is also expected to launch the new 13-inch MacBook with USB Type-C port.

While previous rumours indicated a new iMacs and a fresh 5K display are also expected to be unveiled at the event, more recent reports indicate something else.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said apart from MacBook Pro, Kuo believes the 13-inch MacBook will make appearance, with improvements over to the current 12-inch MacBook. He however does not mention a refreshed MacBook Air lineup, and adds the new iMac models may not be revealed until next year - alongside the standalone 5K display.

Apple's Mac event will begin at 10.30pm IST on Thursday, and we will be giving you all the updates from ground zero. Stay tuned.
