Akai on Wednesday launched its 50-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (model number AKLT50-UD22CH) in India at Rs. 59,990, and the television set has already been made available for purchase via offline stores in the country. Among other features, the new smart TV from Akai comes with built-in Wi-Fi and the company's own Akai Store where users can download apps and games.
Jumping directly into the specifications, the new 50-inch TV comes with a UHD (3840x2160 pixels) resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The smart TV runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. The Akai Store currently has more than 100 apps, which includes apps from Facebook and Twitter. It has a dynamic contrast ratio of 300,000:1 and brightness of 300cd/m2.
In terms of connectivity options, the smart TV comes with two USB ports, three HDMI ports, built-in Wi-Fi, and AV In and AV Out ports.
Anurag Sharma, director at Akai India, commented on the launch by saying, "India has the world's third largest television market. As per the global trends , consumers are moving more towards the large screen TVs and companies keep on upgrading technology along with that there has been visible change in purchasing power in India, with all these factors, consumers are able to change their TV sets every 4-5 years. We are extensively vouching on this trend across both Tier I and II cities and have kept a competitive price point wherein the consumers will be able to upgrade their TV viewing experience to a whole new level."
