Apple's belated push into music streaming, Apple Music, went live in 100 countries across the world on Tuesday. Apple Music lets subscribers listen to any song they want at the push of a button, and its catalog includes most major labels and artists, with some notable exceptions.
Apple Music will be a paid service after the free 3-month trial, but it was Beats 1 Radio, a free for life radio station that also debuted on Tuesday, which perhaps caught everyone's attention. Here's everything you need to know about Beats 1 Radio:
1) Beats 1 Radio is a free-to-air Internet radio station that's available for listening in 100 countries. Like Apple Music, the service is available via the revamped Music app that was pushed out to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch owners as part of an iOS update on Tuesday.
2) Beats 1 Radio and Apple Music are also available to Windows and Mac users via iTunes 12.2. The services will also be available to Android users later this year.

3) With people increasingly shifting to streaming service like Spotify, Apple's iTunes store that let people buy music was getting left behind. With Apple Music, the world's largest company aims to change that.

4) Beats 1 Radio is a big part of that push and Apple has sought to make a splash through big names on Beats 1, poaching the influential New Zealand-born DJ Zane Lowe from BBC Radio 1.
5) "Into the unknown we go," quipped Lowe as he began the first official Beats 1 broadcast at 9am PST (9:30pm IST) on Tuesday. Spring King, a little-known alternative band from Manchester, England, became the first band to be featured on Apple's new radio station when Lowe played their song "City." The service reportedly experienced a 30 minute outage later in the day.
6) Lowe is based in Los Angeles, with Apple employing high profile DJs in other parts of the world, including Ebro Darden in New York and Julie Adenuga in London.
7) Beats 1 Radio's schedule is available on Tumblr, and you can see that shows featuring prominent artists like Eminem and Pharrell Williams are lined up later this week. You can also request songs on Beats 1 by dialling any of the numbers that Apple has shared on its website. Strangely, you cannot request songs via Twitter or email.

8) Apple hopes people tuning into Beats 1 Radio will eventually sign up for Apple Music, a service that lets them listen to any song, anytime they want. While most prominent labels and artists have signed up to offer their works via Apple Music, notable absentees include The Beatles, Prince, and The Black Keys.
9) Apple Music is free to try for 3 months, and after the trial is over it costs Rs. 120 per month ($9.99 in the US) for an individual subscription, or Rs. 190 per month ($14.99 in the US) for a family of up to six users. While the trial is free, it's possible you received an alert from your bank that some amount has been charged to your card. This is usually a dummy charge to see if your card is indeed valid. You can also stop your account from being automatically charged once the free trial is over.
10) After from listening to music on demand, Apple Music subscribers can also tune in to radio stations based on genres or ones inspired by artists or other themes like 90s pop etc.
