The past few months have seen major, long overdue price corrections in the television segment in India, with most models now costing a fair bit more than they did in 2020. You could expect to buy a well-specced 55-inch Ultra-HD TV for under Rs. 40,000 not so long ago, but it's hard to find such deals anymore since many popular brands including Xiaomi, Hisense, and Vu now have prices starting at around the Rs. 45,000 mark for a 55-inch LED TV. Naturally, this new 55-inch Ultra-HD TV from Thomson priced at under Rs. 40,000 caught my attention.

Thomson Oath Pro Max 55-inch 4K Android TV Summary

The Thomson Oath Pro Max 55-inch Ultra-HD LED TV is priced at Rs. 36,999, and offers high-end features and specifications at a considerably lower price than that of much of the competition. The TV also has support for Chromecast and AirPlay, and runs on Android TV 10 with access to all major apps and services.

Brightness and HDR performance are less than ideal on the Thomson 55OPMAX9055, but sharp picture, good UI performance, and sound quality do make up for this a bit. It's worth considering at under Rs. 40,000, but it might make sense to spend a bit more and get a better television from brands such as Xiaomi or Vu.
