"The new service enables MNOs (mobile network operators) to route international HD calls via end-to-end IP, without transcoding, ensuring that HD customers calling HD-compatible destinations internationally will receive the full HD experience," Tata Communications said in a statement.
The company's network is connected to 210 mobile operators via IP voice interconnect and 26 of these operators are HD-ready. Four operators have already deployed HD Voice on its network, the statement added.
HD voice service ensures that calls are clearer and background noise is significantly reduced.
"We will leverage our community of IP-connected MNOs (mobile network operators) to quickly enable HD voice calls between the widest possible range of destinations, maximising the benefits of premium call quality for our partners and their end users," Tata Communications President (Global Voice Solutions) Michel Guyot said.
Tata Communications is currently the world's largest international wholesale voice carrier, carrying more than 1 billion voice minutes per week with over 30 voice strategic sourcing partnerships signed to date, the statement added.
