Reliance Communications (RCom) has introduced its 'One India, One Rate' plans in India, for both its prepaid and postpaid subscribers. Under these plans, subscribers will not be charged roaming fees on a certain amount of their incoming or outgoing calls, and will have the same tariff as their Home Plan anywhere in India.

The postpaid customers can choose between the 'One India, One Rate 599' and 'One India, One Rate 350' plans. The Rs. 599 plan gives users 1,200 free minutes on outgoing calls including numbers that are local, on roaming or on STD. Post 1,200 free minutes, the users will be charged 30 paisa per minute. 2GB of mobile Internet data and 100 free SMSs also fall under the plan. The firm also gives the benefit of free incoming calls across India on its RCom network.

The Rs. 350 plan for postpaid customers gives 700 free outgoing minutes on roaming, local and STD numbers, post which users would be charged 40 paise per minute. 1GB of mobile Internet data and 100 free SMSs are also a part of the plan. Notably, this plan includes free incoming calls only for 200 minutes.

On the other hand, the prepaid RCom network users can go for the 'One India, One Rate 45' plan and can avail local, roaming, STD and home minutes at 40 paise per minute charge along with free incoming calls while on roaming. The Rs. 45 plan would be available only for 30 days from the time of recharge.

"We are delighted to launch the One India, One Rate Plans in the country, which abolish differentiated tariffs for roaming, STD and local calls in India. When business has no boundaries, then tariffs should also be seamless and customer-friendly-thus, incoming calls while roaming will now be free on the RCOM network" said Mr Gurdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer in a statement.

RCom also announced a tripartite agreement with Tata Teleservices (TTSL) and Aircel to provide 3G roaming services to each other's customers using their network across country in April
