Reliance Communications Wednesday announced an expansion of its Application Aware Network service to India, enabling enterprises to upgrade to an intelligent network for increased business efficiency.
"As large enterprises need to support a geographically dispersed workforce and a greater number of users and devices accessing applications across their network, the objective is to improve the user experience." said Punit Garg, chief executive, Global Enterprise Business, Reliance Communications.
The network provides visibility and control of application performance across networks and increases WAN (wide area network) capacity by using cutting-edge traffic optimisation technologies. The network upgrades and improves enterprise efficiency.
"With Reliance's Application Aware Network, enterprises can enjoy improved employee productivity, insights into their WAN and application performance, and reduced IT costs," he added.
The network has been launched in partnership with US-based IT performance multinational Riverbed.
"Over the past 18 months, Riverbed has witnessed substantial growth in the number of our clients who look to service providers to provide WAN optimisation and acceleration as part of a managed service, bundled with other network oriented services. Reliance's entry to this market is well timed," said John Shoop, vice president, global service providers and system integrators, Riverbed.
