Taking on competitors such as Reliance Jio and Vodafone, Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced a new festive offer under which it is offering an instant cashback benefit worth Rs. 2,000 to customers upgrading to a new 4G smartphone. The new offer is a part of the company's recently launched #AirtelThanks initiative that is aimed to reward loyal customers. The telco is offering the cashback in the form of 40 coupons worth Rs. 50 each that can be used on subsequent recharges or postpaid bill payments. This sounds similar to how Reliance Jio has offered cashback to its customers in the past. The new offer notably comes days after Airtel brought a Rs. 2,500 cashback for customers buying a Flipkart-exclusive 4G smartphone during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale.

As per the new festive offer by Airtel, customers upgrading to a new 4G smartphone will get an instant cashback benefit worth Rs. 2,000. This benefit will be credited to customer's My Airtel account in the form of 40 coupons worth Rs. 50 each. These coupons can be redeemed on subsequent recharges of Rs. 199, Rs. 249, and Rs. 448 prepaid packs or postpaid bill payment of Rs. 399 and above. Importantly, only one coupon can be availed at a single time. This means that customers won't get benefits above Rs. 50 on each recharge or bill payment using the given coupons.

To avail the new offer, Airtel says that you need to insert a 4G SIM in a new 4G smartphone on or before October 31. The coupons are claimed to be auto-apply on every subsequent recharge or bill payment via the MyAirtel app. Further, these will be valid for the first 40 months of being credited to your account.

It is worth pointing out here that as per the terms and conditions available on the MyAirtel app, coupon type in the form of benefits for prepaid and postpaid accounts will be allocated under the offer will be as per the account type. Also, it is explicitly defined that prepaid coupons will only be provided to prepaid customers, whereas postpaid coupons will only apply for postpaid customers, and the given coupons will not apply on recharges or bill payments done for any added accounts. The telco has also specified that offer coupons will only apply on the handset on which they were unlocked.

Once you're sure that you're eligible for the cashback, you can check the coupons by going to My Coupons section on the MyAirtel app.airtel cashback offer Airtel cashback

"As customers upgrade their smartphone this festive season, we want to delight them with exclusive benefits under our recently launched customer program #AirtelThanks," said Vani Venkatesh, Chief Marketing Officer, Bharti Airtel, in a statement while announcing the new offer. "We invite all our customers to make the most of the offer."

As we mentioned, Airtel earlier this month announced its partnership with Flipkart to offer up to a cashback worth Rs. 2,500 for customers buying Flipkart-exclusive 4G smartphones. The company also launched its #AirtelThanks programme earlier this month to provide rewards to its loyal customers in the form of benefits such as access to premium digital content and online shopping vouchers.
