Airtel has announced a new plan for its corporate postpaid customers which will let them use prepaid data packs to augment their data limits. The company calls the new plan - 'Prepaid on Postpaid' and claims it to be "industry first".

The new 'Prepaid on Postpaid' plan for data will work on top of the respective postpaid corporate plans. Any customer using an Airtel corporate plan can get the prepaid data recharge on their number and this recharge can be done from any prepaid retail channel or online. Airtel confirms that the customers won't be billed for the prepaid data recharge and will not be part of the Postpaid bill. The standard prepaid data recharges start at as low as Rs. 99.

Announcing the new plan, Srinivasan Gopalan, Director, Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel (India & South Asia) said, "Flexibility is the core of our postpaid proposition, with Airtel myPlan offering infinite choices to the customers to create their own mobile plans. Now with 'Prepaid on Postpaid', we are offering enhanced flexibility to our corporate customers while simplifying their data experience. We have received extremely positive response to this product."

The new 'Prepaid on Postpaid' plans is targeted at corporate customers who have a limit on data usage or have their SIM cards still locked on 2G network due to company policies. The new plan for corporate customers will also allow them experience Airtel's 4G network with prepaid data recharge without opting for an upgrade of plan. Airtel stresses that the limit of data usage on corporate numbers force customers to opt for dual-SIM device or carrying two devices at one time for separate purposes - personal and work.
