Aircel on Monday launched a new plan for prepaid customers in Delhi NCR, called FRC148. The new Aircel plan costs Rs. 148, and is valid for three months or 90 days. It offers unlimited local and STD 'on-net' calls, which means Aircel to Aircel, apart from off-net and data benefits.
As for the off-net calls, or Aircel to another operator, the Aircel new plan offers free calls for 15,000 seconds per month, which translates to 250 minutes per month. After the free usage is expired, the 'off-net' calling rates will revert to Rs. 0.30 per minute. Coming to the data benefits, the company says the FRC148 plan will give unlimited 2G data for one month, but with a 500MB FUP.
Aircel says the customer will have to recharge for minimum Rs. 50 in second and third month for any of the Aircel services to continue the call benefits.
Aircel Regional Manager - North Harish Sharma said the recent drop in the average selling price of smartphones has led to an explosion in the adoption of smartphones among Indians.
"More and more Indians are using mobile for calling (Voice) as well as surfing/sharing online (Internet/data). Aircel recognises the trend of customers becoming a multi-service user hence it becomes imperative to introduce fully loaded combo packs which is a solution to their evolving communication needs," Sharma said.
