Smartphones in the sub-Rs. 10,000 segment have gotten much better in the past few years, and buyers now have a lot of options to choose from. We have seen powerful processors including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and the MediaTek Helio P60 powering smartphones at this price point. Phones with display notches are also very common in this price range now. Tecno's Camon i4 is among a few smartphones at this price point to offer three rear cameras. Does the triple-camera setup help it stand out from some strong competitors, or does it fall short of offering a good experience? We put it to the test to find out.

Tecno Camon i4 is a budget smartphone from Tecno. This smartphone has a 6.2-inch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a dew drop notch. The device is comfortable to hold in the hand. It has a triple camera setup at the back which isn’t very common among its competition.
The Tecno Camon i4 comes in three variants, that have two different processors. The base variant offers a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage while the mid-spec variant offers 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. The top end variant of the Camon i4 packs a Helio P22 SoC and gets 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
It packs in a 3,500mAh battery and Tecno supplies a 10W charger in the box. The smartphone runs HiOS v4.6 on top of Android 9 Pie. The camera performance was average and the AI wasn’t very good when we tested the device. Wide-angle lacked autofocus but can be used for landscapes. Low-light camera performance was below average as it struggled to lock focus and had a noisy output.
