Micromax showed off its latest flagships, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro, at a grand event in Gurgaon last month where it also unveiled a new logo and brand identity. No longer content to be thought of as a "budget" smartphone manufacturer, the company which has so far made the most of India's smartphone boom, wants to take on new Chinese competitors such as Xiaomi and LeEco, which have seriously upped the ante in terms of features, build quality, and price.

Micromax's recent reinvention has borne fruit in the form of the Canvas 6 Pro, a phone which boasts of 4GB of RAM as its main selling point. Build quality is good and this phone actually looks and feels quite good. Unfortunately, those things come at the cost of other features such as a fingerprint reader, quick charging, and other modern conveniences. The camera is just not all that good, and battery life is also disappointing. This is a phone that will work well for those with simple needs, but if you fit that description, you could also look around for phones that cost a lot less.

Have been ardent fan of Micromax phones having used Doodle 2 (A240) for more than 2yrs. Love products Made in India. Call me patriotic...but helps our economy. Unfortunately my A240 died when it fell in waters. So had to go for new phone - bought brand newly released Canvas 6Pro. Canvas 6 could have been better with better specs, but Poorvika@Chennai had only 6Pro. Had to settle with it. Been a week since started using 6Pro, hope these reviews are helpful. Pros: light weight, camera quality good, happy that this model has removable battery. Cons: 1. SIMs and Memory are not accessible without removing battery. 2. Gets heated up, while recording video within few minutes got message - phone is hot, will shutdown app in few seconds. Never happened with Doodle 2. With that I recorded 1hr video non-stop. 3. Battery seems to get drained out fast. I do full charge, but gets drained out within hours. 4. Flipcase and temper glass not available in market yet.
