LeEco (formerly LeTV) made a big splash in India with its debut offerings at the beginning of this year. Six months later, the company is back with its second generation of smartphones. We are of course referring to the much talked about Le 2 and Le Max 2 smartphones. The company debuted these smartphones in April and after a short wait, you can finally get them in India.

LeEco Le Max 2 Summary

The Le Max 2 is the successor to the Le Max, and features an updated design and metal unibody. The Quad HD display produces crisp visuals and sunlight legibility is quite good. This is one of the first phones to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favour of USB Type-C audio. The new CDLA format is currently supported by only one pair of headphones, built and sold by LeEco. It offers good audio quality, but the design causes ambient noise to seep in, which reduces the bass levels. The Snapdragon 820 SoC delivers good performance and eUI 5.6 has a host of entertainment features. Battery life is also very good and so is the primary camera, which boasts of OIS and PDAF. The Le Max 2 is a good phone at Rs. 22,999 for the 32GB version; however the 64GB version is priced at Rs. 29,999. At this price, the OnePlus 3 is a better buy for its better overall performance.

  • This device makes speechless.

This device is lit AF. When you buy, it doesn't have voLTE. Type c headphone will not work after some days. VoLTE be enabled after eui update 5.9. Then you cant use BHIM upi or google pay just because you have lost the device verification from Google. When you update to EUI 6 for face unlock, Google play store, google services framework, google account manager will not work just because your device is banned to connect google server. And this device doesn't support for HDR graphics for PUBG. And FPS will range from 20-25. Nice for gamers.

  • great hardware poor software, for geeks mainly
Christian Mt (Jul 23, 2016) on Gadgets 360
Hi, I?ve just bought Le Eco Max 2. The hardware looks great and the screen offers an excellent quality. Loaded with a lot of apps and antivirus running in the background, Antutu still runs at 115000 (+ 20000lower than the official score). Contrary to what is said in some review, there is no NFC device in the Le Eco Max 2 4Gb-32Gb. However, the software is not well finished. The French translation is only partially done. Using either Firefox or Chrome, it was impossible to listen to some web-radio at a time and place where my previous smartphone (Zopo ZP999) could easily do it and where internet speed test proved to be excellent (50MB/sec). The native apps like e.g. phone and contacts are basic and need to be replaced by better ones available on Google store. There are several LeEco apps only usable in China (and in Chinese) but they cannot be inactivated. The control over apps permissions is far not so extended as on my previous phone but I don?t know whether it is linked to the phone or to the difference between Android 6 and 4. Camera not tested yet. Conclusion: great hardware poor software, for geeks mainly On the internet, there are some ROM in preparation but rooting and flashing the ROM is not for anybody.
