We've been following BlackBerry's journey from the top of the smartphone market to the bottom, and it has been extremely tempting on multiple occasions to declare the company effectively dead. Poor decision after poor decision has resulted in the company's products - which were the absolute must-have status symbols of an entire generation - being seen now as relics from the distant past. There are holdouts, no doubt, but their number is diminishing every day.

BlackBerry Priv Summary

The BlackBerry Priv marks the company's long-delayed acceptance that its BB10 operating system could not compete in the modern smartphone market. By adopting Android, the company is trying to retain its base of hardcore fans, but the price is so high that there's very little chance of attracting new fans. The Priv is a handsome phone and is unique in the Android world because of its keyboard, but lacks many current-day conveniences that even low-end phones have. The camera is okay, but not spectacular. Overall, it feels like too little, too late.

  • Kudos to Blackberry Priv
Yogeendran Ip (Feb 20, 2016) on Gadgets 360
The brand new Priv Model STV100-3 purchased on 8/2/2016 required updating of almost all the applications. The charging port slips even with a slight shake of the handset. Nevertheless a good smart phone though the cost is conparatively high. Indeed I love it.

  • Horrible price tag
Rana Barua (Jan 30, 2016) on Gadgets 360
This brand is soon going to get wiped out from Indian market after the launch of Blackberry Priv. Blackberry must be really mad that it has put a price tag of Rs.62990/- here in India when whole lot of good branded smartphones like Apple, Sumsung, Motorola, HTC are already available at cheaper price. Thmubs down to Blackberry for cheating Indian customers.
