GlobalSpace Technologies, an India-based tech firm, on Wednesday launched its Solt 3-in-1 Windows tablet in the market. The device costs Rs. 19,450 and is available from Snapdeal and Amazon India.

The tablet's claim to fame is its 3-in-1 usability. Solt, besides being used as a tablet, can also be used as a laptop with the bundled keyboard dock, and a 'desktop' with a slightly larger dock - though to us, the desktop mode just looks like an unwieldy laptop. The magnetic standalone dock with keyboard features 4 USB ports, RJ 45 inbuilt connector, 8-Watt dual surround sound speakers, and an optional 500GB SATA hard drive storage with support for up to 1TB. The keyboard has a touchpad with left and right click-buttons.

GlobalSpace Technologies Solt runs on Windows 8.1 with Bing but is upgradeable to Windows 10 OS as well. It features a 10.1-inch HD (1280x800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 64-bit Intel 'Bay Trail' Atom Z3735G processor (four cores, four threads, minimum clock speed 1.33GHz, burst clock speed up to 1.83GHz), clubbed with 2GB of DDR3L RAM at 1333MHz and Intel HD Graphics.

The 3-in-1 convertible tablet houses 64GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and is backed by a 7900mAh battery, which is claimed to offer up to 8-10 hours of normal use battery life, and up to 60-72 hours in standby. The tablet supports 3G connectivity, weighs 615 grams, and comes with one-year free device insurance as per the firm. It measures 258x172.6x9.8mm and is available in Carbon Black colour variant.

"Solt has 'MySolt app' which is the only thing one requires to manage this device. This app can be downloaded from Windows or Android store on the user's smart phone. MySolt app comes with a chat option so one can connect with us for device settings or remote diagnostics. The app provides a large referral section which helps in answering everyday device questions and we also send a daily productivity tip, so that the user spends more time doing work and less time worrying about their device," said Krishna Singh, Founder Director, GlobalSpace Technologies, describing the bundled service app.
