Samsung has officially launched its Galaxy Note 510 tablet in India for Rs. 30,900. The device is known as Galaxy Note 8.0 in international markets and this tablet was earlier up for pre-orders on company's online store.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 was originally unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in February and announced in the Indian market as Galaxy Note 510 a week later. It comes with an 8-inch WXGA (1280X800 pixels) TFT display with an 189ppi pixel density. Running on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), the tablet has a 5-megapixel rear and a 1.3-megapixel front camera.

Measuring 210.8 x 135.9 x 8 mm and weighing 338 grams, the Galaxy Note 510 is powered by a 1.6 GHz A9 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It features feature 16GB internal storage options with additional expansion support up to 64GB via microSD. In some markets, Samsung is also offering a 32GB internal storage variant but so far the same is not available in India.

With the purchase of every Samsung Galaxy Note 510, you will get 12,000 coins in the virtual wallet, which gets activated as soon as one downloads the myServices application. User can redeem these coins by streaming premium movies, downloading latest Bollywood songs or playing HD quality games.

However, 500 of these coins are meant to be specifically used for reading, which means that these points can only be used to download books, comics, magazines audio books or newspapers.

Another catch is that these points have to be consumed within the first three months of purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 510.

Connectivity wise, the tablet boasts Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, AllShareCast, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0. The 3G variant of the tablet (not on pre-orders yet) also includes A-GPS and GLONASS.

The tablet comes with a host of pre-installed applications such as the proprietary Chat-On 2.0 messenger, Awesome Note and more. Like other devices of the Note series, the Galaxy Note 510 comes with the famed S Pen and includes Air View, S Note, S Planner, Email with hand-writing integration, amongst other features.

Commenting on the launch, B.D. Park, President & CEO, South West Asia, Samsung Electronics, said "The GALAXY Note 510 breathes fresh life into the category as it delivers the perfect fusion of portability and everyday productivity resulting in a pioneering, pocket-sized solution that enhances and enriches our everyday lives, whether at work or play".
