The Galaxy W supports voice calling, the highlight feature of the tablet, and also supports LTE-A network connectivity. The Galaxy W comes with a 7-inch HD (resolution unspecified) display and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. Notably, the tablet is being touted as a phone by Samsung, but we classify all smartphones with a larger than 7-inch display as tablets.
It is backed by a quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) clocked at 1.2GHz alongside 1.5GB of RAM. The Galaxy W sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The tablet comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is can be expanded via microSD card (up to 64GB). It weighs 245 grams. There is no word on battery capacity and connectivity options in the Galaxy W.
In April, Samsung launched its Galaxy Tab4 series including three tablets, namely: Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1.
Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1 tablets share many common specifications. They all run Android 4.4 KitKat and are all powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processors (unspecified chipset), alongside 1.5GB of RAM. Further, the three Galaxy Tab4 tablets sport 3-megapixel fixed focus rear cameras and also house 1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras.
All three tablets also sport the same WXGA (1280x800 pixels) display resolution, though different screen sizes. The Galaxy Tab4 7.0, as the name suggests features a 7-inch display; the Galaxy Tab4 8.0 comes with an 8-inch display, and the Galaxy Tab4 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch display.
Recently, Samsung announced the much-awaited ruggedised version of the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S5 Active.
The South Korean giant quietly launched the Galaxy S5 Active on AT&T and priced it at $714.99 (Rs. 42,000) without contract, while will be available at $199.99 with two-year contract with AT&T.
Unfortunately, there has been no word whether when the Galaxy S5 Active would be available outside the US or on other mobile carriers apart from AT&T.
