Samsung has unveiled a new variant of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) tablet which comes with the S Pen. The new tablet has been unveiled in South Korea and comes at SKW 489,000 (approximately Rs. 29,500).
To recall, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) was launched in May and came Wi-Fi and LTE variants priced at EUR 289 (approximately Rs. 22,000) and EUR 349 (approximately Rs. 26,500) respectively.
The all-new Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) with S Pen features new tools for stylus that were seen on the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The tablet comes with a SIM card slot and supports 4G connectivity.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) TFT display. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. To recall, the previous generation Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 came with 2GB of RAM, though it was powered by the same chipset.
There is 32GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). The new Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) with S Pen runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company's skin on top. It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also packs f/1.9 aperture. There is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture also on board. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is backed by a 7300mAh battery which is rated to deliver talk time of up to 49 hours on 4G network and internet usage time of up to 13 hours on 3G. It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB connectivity options as well. It measures 254.3x164.2x8.2mm and weighs 558 grams. The tablet will be available in Black colour only.
