Samsung's chief of Mobile Communications JK Shin, seems to have passed on information claiming that the Galaxy Note 8.0 will debut at the Mobile World Congress next month. Now, a leaked press image of the device has been posted by Twitter user @Clasificatearg that lists the specifications of the Note 8.0.

From the looks of it, the Galaxy Note 8.0 will compete head on with Apple's iPad mini. The specs listed in the image seem to be in line with previous rumours mentioning an 8-inch 1280x800 display as opposed to iPad mini's display 1024x768 across 7.9-inches. That's as close as it can get.

Other specs listed include a 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, options of 16/32GB as internal storage, 5-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, HSPA+ and LTE support and the famed S-Pen.

As far as the processor is concerned, things seem a bit out of place. Is it just an upgraded version of the Exynos 4 as seen in the Note 10.1 instead of the newly announced Exynos 5 Octa chipset? Considering these are just speculations, we'd wait for the final details to be announced soon.

Design wise, the Note 8.0 seems to look like a hybrid of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 featuring an S-Pen to seal the deal. The device is also not one of Samsung's next generation devices, rather a product between the Note II and the Note 10.1.

Other rumoured specs for the device indicate that it is likely to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and connectivity options may include Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS. It is expected to come with a 4,600mAh battery.

There are also speculations doing the rounds that Samsung may launch two versions of Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 - Samsung GT-N5100, which will be a 3G+Wi-Fi version and the GT-N5110, which will be a Wi-Fi only version.

So far things look good for the Korean manufacturer and we'd certainly hope to see the Galaxy Note 8.0 at MWC in February with more details regarding price and availability.
