Will the long awaited iPad Facebook app launch at the Apple event on October 4? Apple watchers seem to think so.
Mashable reports the launch and says Facebook is also prepping for a revamped version of their iPhone app plus a new HTML-5 based mobile app store.
The app, which was leaked earlier this year by TechCrunch, has been in the works for some time. In fact, former Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoeyen revealed in a blog post that he left the company partially because it had been sitting on the app, which had been completed back in May.
Industry speculation states that Facebook was initially supposed to be deeply integrated in Apple's iOS 5 but negotiations fell through and Apple turned to Twitter, which in turn left the Facebook iPad app in the doldrums.
If the rumours do turn out to be true, October 4 could well be a bonanza for fans of both Apple and Facebook.
