If you're looking for a rugged Windows-powered tablet, Panasonic has something you may be interested in. The company on Monday launched the Toughpad FZ-Y1, which in addition to extreme durability also offers top-of-the-line specifications. The Toughpad FZ-Y1 is priced at Rs. 2,40,000.
Designed for broadcasters, photographers, architects, and sales executives, the biggest attraction of the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 is, of course, its durability. The company says that the tablet can withstand drop from up to 76 centimetres in height. The device can work under extreme temperatures - from -29 to 60 degrees Celsius.
As for the specifications, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 comes sporting a 20-inch 4K (3840x2560 pixel) IPS alpha LCD touchscreen with an aspect ration of 15:10. It is 12.55mm thick and weighs 2.41kg. It is powered by Intel Core i5-5300 vPro SoC with Intel HD Graphics 5500, and 8GB of RAM. It features a 256GB SSD for storage. The tablet comes with a range of input ports including a USB 3.0 port, Ethernet port, an SDXC card slot, MiniDisplay port, HDMI 2.0 port, and headphone jack.
An optional cradle is also available with additional ports, including an additional LAN port, HDMI, and three USB 3.0 ports. It features Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. On the software side, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 runs Windows 8.1 Pro Update operating system. Notably, a value model with fewer ports, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD storage was launched globally alongside, but was not made available in India.
