Logitech, best known for its PC and smartphone peripherals, has launched three new tablet cases for Apple iPad Air (Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+Cellular), iPad mini (with Retina Display) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (3G and LTE) that was first announced in April.
While the Apple iPad Air and iPad mini tablet cases fall under the company's Big Bang series, the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1's case comes as a part of Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard Folio series.
Priced at Rs. 4,995 for the Apple iPad Air case and Rs. 4,495 for the iPad mini case, Logitech's Big Bang cases come with a 'military class' protection and prevent the tablets from scratches and bumps. It is worth mentioning that Logitech' Big Bang cases are made of a shock-absorbent material that Logitech says is generally used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
Logitech claims that the Big Bang cases for Apple iPad Air and iPad mini have been drop tested from 1.4 metres, exceeding the U.S. Military Drop Standard of 1.22 meters.
Besides its ruggedness and impact-absorbing build, the Big Bang cases also flaunt multiple tablet stand angles to provide different viewing angles for users. Being lightweight (412 grams for iPad Air and 276 grams for iPad mini) and thin, the Logitech Big Bang cases also come with the ability to auto wake-up and auto-sleep the tablets when opened and closed.
While the Big Bang case for Apple iPad Air is sized at 247.3x180x15.86mm, the Big Bang case for Apple iPad mini comes with a dimension of 208x144.61x15.63mm. More details can be found in the company's dedicated website.
Priced at Rs. 6,495, Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard Folio tablet case for the relatively new Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 shares the same sleek design profile as the Big Bang cases for the Apple iPad tablets. However, the case comes with an integrated keyboard with well-spaced keys for efficient typing.
The integrated keyboard in the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 also reduces the viewing angle positions as compared to the Big Bang range of cases. The case offers two viewing angles - one with the upright position and second with the keyboard hidden position.
The case also shares a similar auto-wake up and auto-sleep features when opened and closed. Notably, the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 can run for three months at two hours of use every day on a single charge. It can be recharged via a USB cable.
Another benefit being touted by Logitech about the Ultrathin Keyboard folio case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 is the magnetic lock of the case in the upright position, something missing with the Big Bang range of cases.
The Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for the Galaxy Tab4 10.1 weighs 450 grams, measures 255x191.2x20.3mm and is compatible with Android 4.4 KitKat OS. For details, users can take a look at Logitech India's website.
