Lenovo unveils A1000, A3000 and S6000 Android Jelly Bean tablets at MWC

Lenovo has announced a new lineup of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablets with varied form factors and configurations in the budget/mid-level segment at the Mobile World Congress currently underway in Barcelona.

The range consists of two new A Series tablets dubbed as the A1000 and the A3000 sporting 7-inch screens and an S6000 which stands at the top of the line with a 10-inch screen.

Speaking at the launch, Chen Wenhui, Vice President Lenovo and GM Mobile BU said, "Lenovo's latest Android tablet family is designed to meet the demands of a wide range of customers, particularly young, active users who are always on the go, and have adopted the seven-inch form factor as their own. With these latest additions to our tablet portfolio, we've created devices that address these customers' needs, as well as devices for more demanding gamers and multimedia users. We believe that our Android family of tablets will appeal to customers across the world as we've built our products to be highly accessible and flexible to serve multiple needs and budgets."

The S6000 sports a 10-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS display and a quad-core MediaTek's 8389 / 8125 processor, clocked at 1.2GHz. The tablet, measures 8.6mm in thickness and weighs in at 560 grams, claims 8 hours of battery life on continuous WiFi web browsing and there's optional HSPA+ radio as well.

The A3000 comes with a 7-inch IPS 1024x600 display, a 1.2GHz quad-core MTK processor and optional 3G HSPA+ too. Though it's smaller than the S6000 weighing in at less than 340g, it is also slightly thicker at 11mm. It has microSD expansion support upto 64GB.

Finally, the A1000 is a 7-inch entry level Android tablet with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and Dolby Digital Plus audio. The device is being targeted at music lovers and first time tablet buyers. The internal 16GB storage is expandable by an additional 32GB via microSD card. It is expected to be available in Black and White colors.

These new Android tablets from Lenovo will be available worldwide from Q2 2013 with pricing varying according to market, configuration and model.
