Lava International has launched a 7-inch tablet, Etab Xtron, in the Indian market, for Rs. 6,499. The tablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-core processor, comes with 1GB RAM, on-board, and runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. This is Lava's second tablet, after the E-Tab Z7H, which the company
launched in August 2012.
The tablet's display boats of an IPS panel, that supports multiple viewing angles and increases under-sun visibility. It sports a resolution of 1024x600 pixels.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. SN Rai, Co-Founder& Director, Lava International Ltd said, "At Lava, we set out to uplift our users to the absolute cutting-edge technology. The tablet also features a 2-megapixel front facing camera, and comes with 8GB of internal memory, which can be extended up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity wise, the tablet doesn't offer 3G and the only way to connect to the Internet is through Wi-Fi. The tablet runs on a 3,500 mAh battery, which according to Lava, delivers up to four hours of battery life.
Lava has also tied up with various content partners for the ETAB XTRON. The company is offering an entertainment package worth Rs. 2,000 from Hungama.com, free of charge, in addition to a one month unlimited online movie on demand package from BigFlix for Re. 1.The tablet also bundles a free vedic-maths package, discounts worth Rs. 4,000 from meritnation.com, a free career booster package and additional 20 percent discount from edukart.com.
