Has Samsung patented a design of dual-screen tablet, which will come with a remote control? That's certainly how it seems.
Apparently Samsung has been granted the patent of 'dual screen design for a terminal for portable mobile communication'.
According to the information available, this tablet will be a clamshell dual-screen tablet. It will have two 7-inch displays attached by a hinge. What's more, this tablet will also come with a remote control device, which will be more of a business-oriented tool and will come handy during presentations.
Though, it does sound like an innovative design, it is certainly not the first of its kind. Recently, Sony had launched its foldable Android tablet -
Sony Tablet P. This tablet features a dual 5.5-inch display and comes with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. It runs on Android Honeycomb and is expected to get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich soon. Sony Tablet P was launched in India in February 2012.
Even in terms of smartphones, Kyocera on its part had also introduced a foldable Android smartphone called Kyocera Echo. However, hardly anyone took notice and this smartphone got lost into oblivion.
Coming back to Samsung, the company is already offering tablets in four different sizes - 7 inches, 7.7 inches, 8 inches and 10.1 inches. And, if introduced, this foldable dual screen tablet would be another addition to this line-up. But it would be a while before this tablet sees the light of the day as it is still in the development stage.
