The widely anticipated iPad Air 3, which is rumoured to launch in March, could have the Smart Connector. Purported image of what appears to be a case for the iPad Air 3 leaked recently, revealing several features of the company's upcoming tablet.
The case for the iPad Air 3, which was first spotted by Japanese blog Macoatakara, reveals Apple's plan to include the Smart Connector and many other iPad Pro features to its forthcoming tablet. The Smart Connector was first introduced by Apple with the iPad Pro tablet last year.
The Smart Connector allows a user to connect a keyboard or any other accessory with the iPad Pro. It is also more reliable and performance efficient. As seen last week, Apple is now allowing users to update firmware on iPad Pro accessories using the tablet.
The cutout of the iPad Air 3 also suggests that the iPad Air 3 will have a four-speaker setup - as is the case with the iPad Pro. And also, it seems the iPad Air 3 will have a flash sensor to go alongside the rear camera.
A report on 9to5Mac last month claimed that Apple is currently thinking about launching the iPad Air 3 in March alongside the widely reported the iPhone 5se, and new Apple Watch models.
Not much about the iPad is known though earlier reports point us to a few things. A report from last year claimed that the iPad Air 3 won't have 3D Touch display. A report from last month, interestingly, claimed that the iPad Air 3 could have a 4K display - a significant boost to the iPad Air 2's 2058x1536 screen resolution.
