iPad 2 now available at Rs. 24,500

The iPad 2 receives a price-cut and will now cost Rs. 24,500 for the 16GB Wi-FI model in India.

The big news from last night's event was of course the 'new iPad'. Equally interesting was the development that the new iPad does not replace the iPad 2, which, infact, has received a price-cut of $100 across the range.

Apple India has been quick to update the iPad 2 price in India. We've learnt from our sources that the iPad 2 will now start from 24,500 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and 32,900 for the16GB Wi-Fi + 3G model. No word yet on other models, but we'll be sure to update this page as and when we find out.

The move to make the iPad even more affordable is great on Apple's part in the light of the flood of low-cost tablets in the market. Combine iPad 2's features with an attractive new pricing and its sure to be an even bigger hit that it already is.
