After burning its hands with HTC Flyer, the Taiwanese company is now said to be planning to partner with Microsoft to make a mark in the tablet space.

PhoneArena.com is reporting that HTC is currently in the process of developing two high-resolution tablets. These tablets have been codenamed R7 and R12 and will reportedly run on Windows RT Blue.

The HTC R7 will allegedly feature a 7-inch device with full-HD display. It will be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU along with 2GB of RAM. There will be a 13-megapixel rear camera. This tablet will allegedly come with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded.

HTC R12 on the other hand will be a 12-inch tablet with a 2014X1536pixel resolution display.

There had been news regarding HTC working on Windows-based tablet from December 2012. However, there were not too many details available at that point in time.

Even now, there is no word on what could be the price for these tablets, but these tablets are expected to be launched in mid-October 2013. From the specifications it looks like these two tablets will be steeply priced. It is noteworthy, that one of the reasons as to why HTC Flyer could not make a mark was its exorbitant price. It will be interesting to see if HTC will end up making the same mistake again or will the pricing be sensible this time round.

There are also rumours that LG too is planning to re-enter the tablet space. However, there are no details available whether the company will be piggy backing on Android momentum to make a re-entry or like HTC think of taking the Windows way.
