After a sneak peek in a number of rumours and leaks, the second generation Nexus 7 tablet has reportedly appeared in its full glory, courtesy of a new video and accompanying pictures.

Android-focused website Android Central has managed to get its hands on the next Nexus 7 tablet, though it does give a disclaimer that it's not sure if the pictures feature the final version of the device or a prototype.

The tablet has been labeled as ME571K_PR1_SKU2, and just like the first generation Nexus 7, manufactured by Asus. Interestingly, the 'nexus' branding on the tablet is etched horizontally (landscape) instead of the usual vertical (portrait) placement, at the back.

The tablet comes with a specifications sheet that mentions a 7-inch LCD display and two cameras. The next generation Nexus 7 is likely to sport a 1.2-megapixel front shooter from LITEONMOBILE and a 5-megapixel rear camera by Chicony on the back. The rear camera appears to be placed in the top left corner inline with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

nexus7-2-8a.jpgThe sheet mentions a Qualcomm APQ8064 motherboard that indicates the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The version spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group website featured a Snapdragon 600 processor, but there could be some discrepancy. It also mentions 4GB of DDR3L RAM and 16GB and 32GB storage options. There's a Micro-USB port right at the bottom, while the placement of the power button and volume rocker is similar to how they're placed on the current Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet also appears to sport two speakers.

The tablet is likely to come with Android 4.3, and is expected to be announced next week. The unveiling is likely to come at a July 24 event in San Francisco. Google has already sent invitations to the media. The event will be hosted by Sundar Pichai, a Google executive who oversees the company's Android and Chrome operating systems.
