Asus and Verizon have unveiled the ZenPad Z8 tablet in the US. Priced at $249.99 (approximately Rs. 16,800) without contract, the new Asus ZenPad Z8 is now available for pre-order via Verizon Wireless online and is listed to start shipping from June 23. It will be also available with a two-year contract at $149.99 (approximately Rs. 10,000).
The Asus ZenPad Z8 features a 7.9-inch IPS display and comes with a 2K (2048x1536 pixels) screen resolution. Asus says that the display on the ZenPad Z8 will offer a 178-degree viewing angle.
The tablet is powered by a 1.4GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. It will come with 16GB of inbuilt storage and will offer expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based ZenUI features dual front-facing stereo speakers offering DTS-HD sound. The tablet sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and also houses a 2-megapixel front camera.
The tablet is backed by a 4680mAh battery and comes with 4G connectivity option via SIM. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and the tablet comes with USB Type-C port.
