Asus has finally unveiled the Transformer Prime tablet in India. Powered by the Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the tablet features a 10.1" display that runs at 1280x800 resolution. It has 1 GB RAM, a 8.0 megapixel rear shooter and a 1.2 megapixel front camera. The tablet ships with Android 3.2 Honeycomb as stock, with an option to upgrade to ICS 4.0.

Asus has launched only the 64GB variant in India at Rs. 49,999. The price includes the dock that features a keyboard and an extended battery. The tablet slots right into the dock to give you a device that looks and feels just like a netboook.

Asus rates the device at 12 hours of battery life, with the dock providing an additional 6 hours.

The device features a micro-SD card reader which can be used to expand storage beyond 64GB. It also features a micro-HDMI port and a headphone + mic audio jack. Compass and gyroscope are thrown in for good measure. The dock, meanwhile, comes with a fully-functional USB 2.0 port that can be used to copy files to and from a pen-drive or even charge your iPod. It also includes a SD card reader.
