Asus has announced the launch of the 32GB variants of the Nexus 7 tablet in the Indian market. The 3G version of the tablet will be available at an MRP of Rs. 21,999 whereas the Wi-Fi variant would be available for Rs. 18,999. It's worth pointing out that this is the maximum retail price and the street price could be lesser.

Interestingly, Google had recently started offering the 16GB Wi-Fi variant of the tablet for Rs. 15,999 on its online store. We're not sure if it will also extend its lineup to include the 32GB version of the device.

"We are elated to announce the most awaited ASUS Nexus 7 to the Indian consumers. We have received an assenting reception for this tablet from the users globally and we are happy to cater to the growing demand in India by making it easily available in the country. The Asus Nexus 7 is a promisingly thin, light and portable marvel which will revolutionize your computing experience and to become your permanent travel companion. This is not the first time that the tablet is being launched in India. In November 2012, Asus, had started selling limited quantities of the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the device, through Croma Retail stores, for a price of Rs. 19,980.

The Nexus 7 was first showcased in June 2012 and went on sale from mid-July. At the time of its launch, the 8GB Wi-Fi version of Nexus 7 was available for $199, but it has since been replaced by a 16GB version at the same price. The tablet runs Android Jelly Bean (version 4.1) and is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, which clocks at 1.3 GHz. The Nexus 7 comes with a 7-inch IPS display screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and pixel density of 216 ppi. The tablet has 1GB of RAM, a 1.2 megapixel front camera and a 4325 mAh battery.
