Apple launched its new iPad models earlier this week and the first benchmark listings have already started to pop up. The company on Tuesday launched the refreshed iPad Pro lineup of top-end tablets, in 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants. Notably, the new devices are powered by Apple's A12X Bionic 7nm chip with a neural engine. It is a more powerful version of the A12 Bionic chip that is present in Apple's 2018 iPhone models. Meanwhile, some listings on a popular benchmark site have surfaced online showcasing some impressive scores. They also hint at some of the specifications of the iPad 2018 models.

An Apple device with a model number iPad8,3 has been spotted on Geekbench with an octa-core Apple processor. The listing shows that the iPad model comes with 4GB of RAM and iOS 12.1. This iPad model scored 4987 in single-core performance and 17,928 in multi-core performance. Meanwhile, there are two other listings on Geekbench for an Apple device with model number iPad8,8. It is seen to come with 6GB of RAM and iOS 12.1. In one of the listings, the iPad model scored 5,030 in single-core performance and 17,995 in multi-core performance. In the other listing, the tablet managed 5,020 in single-core performance and a whopping 18,217 in multi-core performance.

Notably, these results are for both the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, with the difference in scored adjudged to only be caused by the difference in RAM. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith in the meanwhile claims that the models with 1TB of storage have 6GB of RAM, while all other storage options come with 4GB of RAM.

As mentioned, the all-new iPad Pro models - Apple iPad Pro (11-inch) 2018 Wi-Fi and Apple iPad Pro (12.9-inch) 2018 Wi-Fi - are powered by Apple's latest in-house Apple A12X Bionic 7nm SoC. The processor has an 8-core CPU and a 7-core GPU, the latter offers 2x the graphics performance compared to last year's Apple A11X. The new SoC has more than 10 billion transistors. The iPad Pro 2018 models get a neural engine in the A12X Bionic chip. A 9to5Mac report notes

With such impressive Geekbench scores, the 2018 iPad models have managed to show a big lead over most flagship smartphones and go toe-to-toe with some MacBook Pro models as well.

Notably, the iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants will be sold in 64GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The price in India of the 11-inch iPad Pro starts at Rs. 71,900, while the bigger model will retail starting at Rs. 89,900.
