Amazon is now offering its Kindle devices on easy monthly instalments (EMIs) to its users for its Kindle e-reader, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and Kindle Fire HD tablets in India. All the devices are available in three, six, nine and 12-month EMI plans.
Users will be charged 12 percent interest for three and six month plans, and 13 percent interest for nine and 12 month plans for all its devices. Notably, Amazon also only accept payments of EMIs via HDFC, ICICI or Citibank credit cards.

These EMI plans by Amazon will be offered on special discounted prices till 15 April, specifically for its Kindle Paperwhite and the basic e-reader Kindle. While the new Kindle Paperwhite costs Rs. 10,999, the special price will make it available to users for Rs. 10,080. Amazon Kindle basic model, which generally costs Rs. 5,999, will be available for Rs. 5,600. The 12-month EMI option for Amazon Kindle 6-inch and Kindle Paperwhite on the special price will make them available for Rs. 500 and Rs. 900 (per month) respectively.
Earlier this month, Amazon released a software update for the first-generation Kindle Paperwhite reader, finally bringing software features that were first seen on the updated 2013 ebook reader to the original Paperwhite. The new features include Kindle FreeTime, Goodreads integration, and more.

Last month, Amazon also started selling its Kindle online in Brazil, expanding from ebooks into retail for the first time in Latin America's biggest and most challenging e-commerce market.
