If you're waiting for Acer's 7-inch tablet, bad news - the wait just got longer. The 7 inch A100, a true game changer for the form factor and OS it offers, was supposed to have been available in the next few months but has now been delayed to the second half of 2011. No specific dates or price points were mentioned by Acer.

Acer recently showed off three tablets, two of which run Android's latest Honeycomb OS. The 10.1-inch Acer A500 running Honeycomb is available in the market for Rs. 26,990.

Acer is the first in the Indian tablet market to launch a Honeycomb based tablet. The first honeycomb-based tablet to launch globally was the Motorola Xoom.

While Acer has gained the edge by being the first to launch an Android Honeycomb based tablet in India, they may lose out to Samsung with this delay. At the South Asian Samsung forum, we got some hands on time with the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and 8.9 that are also expected to launch soon towards the end of July 2011. Both these devices boast of Honeycomb and are the only true competitors to the iPad 2 and Acer's Iconia Tab line.
