It's a great product, the video clarity is great, the colors look great, but I don't see the option of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos anywhere in the video and audio settings in this product. The packaging was great. No damage was seen anywhere after opening the product

Sony x9500g honest and unbiased review for 55 inch variant
Tarun Gupta (Sep 19, 2020)
on Amazon
This tv has excellent picture quality infact best picture quality than any led or qled tv in the market as of now.Colour reproduction is exceptionally good.AI upscaling is also excellent.Only cons are blooming which is seen in a pitch black room( blooming is the phenomena in which white subtitles against perfect black background radiates white light on the black background),again it's not an oled so technically blooming is unavoidable, but sony could have increased the number of local dimming zones from 48 to 60 , but increasing local dimming zones beyond certain number say 60, will increase the cost of tv to the price point where price will become equal to oled tv and then there will be no point in buying this tv), and slight motion blur(this is the only tv that has least motion blur than any sony, samsung or lg led tv, but ugly truth is that motion blur do exist, however you will not notice it in normal day to day usage and watching a sport channel is a charm),only 20 watts speakers(sufficient for normal usage, every note, every vocal is crystal clear but bass is missing),frequent audio dropouts via hdmi earc port when any external soundbar or home theatre is connected to earc(can be fixed by software update but sony is still not able to completely fix this, despite the fact that sony is working hard on this issue), no hdmi 2.1 port(which is not an issue for most of the users but it can be an issue for those who are planning to buy sony ps5, also sony is deliberately crippling this tv as motherboard of this tv fully supports hdmi 2.1 and sony can introduce hdmi 2.1 by software update),ugly table top stand( not an issue as only picture quality matters) and compatability issues with 3.5 mm jack( some headphones are working great and some headphones are not working, but who uses 3.5 mm jack in a tv so it can be compromised),and viewing angles are not good as this is va panel. But despite all these minor cons, this tv is really mindblowing.Subscription to 4k OTT content and at least 50mbps stable speed is must to fully capitalise the potential of this tvThis tv as of writing this review costs around 85000 INR in usa , 74000 INR in Dubai but in India it costs around 111500 INR which is not justifiable. You will pay approximately 35000 INR as taxes and duties over and above the mrp in uae and usa.So don't think it to be a 1 lakh item. It's only 75k item. And due to government policies, we are suffering. In a nutshell, if you want near oled like quality with slight compromise on deeper blacks and slight blooming without having the risk of burn in,you can go for it but remember led tvs are also not immortal as their brightness will also reduce over time but led tvs in general last much longer than oled tv and more over you don't have the tension to baby care your oled tv all the time by not watching a static content for too long on oled tv.

Excellent Picture quality-especially it?s a joy to watch Netflix. Google assistant works well. Sound is pretty average-you will need a sound bar. At the going price, it?s value for money, considering it?s a SONY.

I have done a lot of research before purchasing this one. Looked from budget tv to high end ones. Finally decided to buy this one and I am delighted by the purchase. There is a reason why Sony is number one brand in television. The amount of details that it's X1 ultimate chip renders is second to none. Watching 4k or Dolby vision content is a treat. Sound quality is clear but cannot compete with soundbar. Also Android 8 experience is not as sleek as fire stick os.

Great TV with some generalized cons..

If you are planning to purchase, look for offers in offline market.. I got this TV for 90k. !!!Pros1. The picture quality is ultimate in 4k resolution .. it's so brilliant in colors and illuminating as it goes to 1000nits..2. The picture quality is not less than a OLED TV but you need a specific content to watch - a 4k video with HdR, Dolby audio/video are visible treat to eyes ..3. The same processor X1 ultimate which used in OLED TVs is used(which is the greatest procesor Sony ever produced)4. Full array and local dimming works well and blacks appear more blacks..5. It is compared with 55x900h of 2020 model - except variable refresh rate and HDMI2.1 both looks same and as the processor used is premium in x95g (X1 ultimate) - we can see the better processing of blacks..Cons: 1. HD content for 55inch tv is not that great.2. 1080p vidoes and content will appear little softer side due to large size and pixel spread ..I think it is same for all other brands of 4k TV's with bigger screens starting from 55inch.I have upgraded my TV from Sony kdl-72** 49inch (which I still have) the full HD content is too sharp, vivid and excellent color contrast in older tv compared to x950g.3. The TV consumes 232watts power in normal TV operation. So expect this is compared to lighting >10 LED tube lights at once..Finally - I would conclude by saying- the picture quality is phenomenal and visual treat to eyes if the content you are watching is 4k l, HDR and Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos enabled.- for normal HD, and HD channels we watch through setup box.. you will see a little disappointments and softer/pixel spread vidoes..

A good TV with loaded features

I bought 55X9500G tv. Picture and sound quality is very good. User interface is pretty good. Have to update the software to latest firmware after installation of tv. User will highly appreciate it when a 4K content with HDR, Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos supported videos are played. You will find that images are little bit blurred or smudged when normal videos with 720p and anythng less than that are played. This could be the same with any kind of tv with 55inch and above.Only problem I found is that tv couldnt be able connect with amazon alexa app. Alexa app unable to discover the tv while searching for devices. But the manufacturer claims that it can be linked with Alexa.Problem with Alexa got resolved. If u r not able to connect with alexa app go to amazon.in in browser and search for alexa skills. Enable the Sony's android tv skill over there and you are good to go.

Sony FALD closest to OLED display
Pinakee (Dec 7, 2020)
on Amazon
After researching a lot on TVs and looking at displays from the likes of LG, Samsung and Sony, I finally decided to go with this one.Picture quality:The picture quality is absolutely mesmerizing and the color reproduction is true and natural. It can reach upto 1200 nits in peak brightness and in well lit rooms, it's a pleasure to watch. The contrast ratio is pretty good and you get deep blacks and true color range. Despite being a VA panel, the viewing angles were extremely good. The brightness automatically adjusts itself to the surrounding illumination. Though it's a panel which can be extremely bright but will never hurt the eyes when viewing in a dark room. Many reveiws say that there's lot of blooming of the subtitles against black in dark room due to less number of led dimming zones, but surprisingly it is not noticeable at all. The surface of the panel does get little warm when viewed for longer duration but again it's common with most LED TVs. This TV supports Netflix calibrated picture mode which means that the contents on Netflix appear true to its color as captured by the creator. Samsung panels on the other hand has more punchy colors, vibrant and eye candy but totally unnatural. The color saturation is so high that after prolonged viewing, it starts to hurt your eyes. It may look very nice at a glance maybe in the shop or on display, but in actual life viewing, it's a pain to look at.LG panels seemed better in real life viewing than top end Samsung panels but peak brightness is less and appears underlit in a bright illuminated room. Samsung Q80T, Samsung Serif and LG Nano 91, LG C9 OLED models were a good contender but the price point and OS made me think otherwise.OS:Sony has the best Google Android integration than any other smart television advertised as "Android" television. With no bloatwares, the OS is buttery smooth due to optimization and does not stutter at all when channels or apps are switched. With the presence of Google Play Store, options for more than 5K apps can be installed without any hiccups. Children and old found the interface quite easy to use and learnt quickly. The contents are pretty sequentially arranged and very easy to navigate. The only con I found was Sony's remote. It should have been like that of LG's magic remote which is extremely easy to navigate and scroll with a dedicated central scroll button.LG's WebOS is also equally good but lack of Google Android integration, made me think otherwise. Hotstar app on WebOS crashes frequently and many of the apps are supported through their browser interface. Like when you click to open YouTube, their web interface opens up instead of the app itself. Many of the apps are not supported in WebOS. Internal storage is a big issue for LG and Samsung TVs. With time, the apps update themselves occupying internal space and making the OS laggy upon usage.Samsung OS's is equally buggy as compared to Google's Android.Picture Processor:X1 Ultimate processor is probably the best chipset that Sony introduced. Top end Sony Z series models also feature this processor. Though it's a step down from their earlier generation processor X1 Extreme, but technically it's not noticeable in day to day usage. The upscaling of lower resolution content is pretty good. Though 1080p appear softer but HDR and 4K content is a pleasure to watch. Amazon Prime video, Netflix and YouTube contents are absolutely brilliant to watch. Image and video processing is brilliantly handled by X1 Ultimate processor. This processor is a major difference between Sony model 9000H. Though that model 9000H supports HDMi 2.1 and variable refresh rate (VRR with future updates) but 950g has better picture panel and processor. Picture quality had more priority to me than playing games with new Sony PS5 console supported by HDMi 2.1.It's newer model Sony 950H is exorbitantly priced at the moment with hardly any major difference between 950g. On the model 950H, HDMi 2.1 port is not available.Sound:It has multi-acoustic audio which has an additional set of tweeters at the rear of the screen. Sound output of 20W is pretty less for a noisy room with children and crowd. The dialogues are not audible at lower levels and needs to be set at 60% or more. Sony's decision to include only 20W speakers are not understandable. Though the newer model 950H comes with 30W speakers which is hardly a step up from its predecessor. The best way to get good balanced sound is to add a home theatre system via Enhanced Audio Return Channel (EARC) port.Built Quality:The built quality is quite good with very thin brushed gun metallic bezel at the front and textured back in plastics. The front lower bottom has a thin chrome metallic strip running across. If you're not planning to wall mount this device then it comes with two metallic feet which are widely placed at a distance away from each other. In between the stand legs, you can easily fit a soundbar. The rear of the stand legs are covered with plastic openable casing to manage/hide the power or HDMi cables.Value for money:If you're in the market for a good TV, as close to an OLED display, then this is the right choice to go for. OLED display has issues of burn-in from static content display and are quite fragile to handle. You will literally baby sit your TV than enjoy watching it. The lifespan of OLED display is quite less as compared to LED. Maybe in few years time, OLED display technology will eventually evolve more and LED displays will become obsolete. OLED displays at the moment are more expensive than LED displays and the risks involved is greater. So it's a conscious choice for now is 4k with full array LED display. Though it's absolutely a pleasure to watch contents on a OLED display with self lit pixels, they look pretty dim in a brightly illuminated room. It's okay for a bed room but absolutely pathetic for a drawing room where there is sufficient illumination.Since 950g is an old model from 2019, you can take advantage of the amount of discounts offered. Not a wise decision to go with 950H since that is costlier than Sony 950g.The best part of this Sony TV is that it is Made in INDIA and not some cheap Chinese junk.If your budget allows you to buy a TV at this price point, then you can opt for this TV as long as the stocks last with good deep discounts. In official Sony Stores, this model has been taken off from their display. Maybe in another couple of months, this model will no longer be available. This model Sony 950g is an absolute value of money.
