World leaders, celebrities take to Twitter to congratulate Barack Obama

Barack Obama sealed Election 2012 with his tweet "Four more years" and kicked off celebrations all over Twitter, with world leaders and celebrities pouring in congratulatory messages.

David Cameron, Prime Minister of United Kingdom tweeted, "Warm congratulations to my friend @BarackObama. Look forward to continuing to work together".

Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh congratulated Barack Obama via s series of tweets, with one of them reading ""My wife joins me in wishing you and Mrs Obama, as well as Malia and Sasha, good health, success and happiness."

The Malaysian Prime Minister, Mohd Najib Tun Razak too sent his best wishes through Twitter as he tweeted, "Congratulations @BarackObama on being elected to a 2nd term. I hope our countries' relationship continues to go from strength to strength."

The pop singer, Ricky Martin tweeted, "What an amazing night! Love conquers hate! Such an honour@BarackObama Good night every1!" and also changed his display picture to the one in which he is standing with Obama.

Kevin Richardson, who is the part of the Backstreet boys kept his greetings short and simple with, "Congratulations to President RE- ELECT Barack Obama"

While Deepak Chopra tweeted, "Hope lives! Congratulations President @Barackobama ! Now time to focus on helping build a great nation & happier world."

The Elections 2012 have already been termed as the "first truly digital elections". Twitter has shared there were about 31 million election-related tweets on Tuesday night. The most tweets came in just before the results were being announced and witnessed 327,452 Tweets per minute (TPM).

President Obama also shared his victory with his followers as he tweeted, "This happened because of you. Thank you". Later on Obama tweeted, "Four more years" along with a picture of him hugging his wife. This tweet has become the most Retweeted with over half a million retweets in a matter of hours.
