Ahead of the English Premier League's 2015-16 season that begins on Saturday, Twitter has unveiled a series of emoji representing each of the 20 clubs. Fans can post these in tweets simply by using certain hashtags such as #Arsenal or #LFC. An emoji of the club's crest will appear next to the hashtag.
The official Premier League Twitter account announced this new series of emoji. These emoji will work only on Twitter, in case you'd been hoping to use these elsewhere. The Premier League also has a hashtag for each match. For example, a match between Everton and Liverpool may have the hashtag #EVELFC. Using the official hashtag results in two emoji appearing in the tweet - featuring the crest of both clubs. The gif image in the tweet below illustrates this.

This isn't the first time Twitter has unveiled such emoji, with the most famous instance being the company's hashflags unveiled for FIFA World Cup 2014. Back then, adding the three-letter hashtag associated with any of the 32 nations playing the World Cup would result in a tiny flag appearing next to the hashtag.
Twitter had earlier unveiled an interactive Premier League follower map to show which teams were popular across the world. The map was one of the ways in which Twitter has been trying to engage with football fans on the platform.
