Microsoft is reportedly in talks to buy the operator of social networks for businesses Yammer. The Redmond headquartered Windows maker is expected to pay $1 billion to buy the company as the deal may be closed as early as tomorrow, reported Bloomberg.

Adding Yammer to its portfolio will help Microsoft to include social-networking tools in its products for business customers, as its competitors Salesforce and Oracle have recently made similar purchases.

Yammer is used by more than 200,000 companies worldwide to provide their employees an internal corporate social networking website.
