Goa minister's daughter reports of fake Facebook account

Goa Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao's daughter Valanka has registered a complaint with police stating that a United Kingdom-based Goan has been defaming her name through the social networking website Facebook.

In a complaint lodged at Colva police station, Valanka alleged that Ray Dias, the accused, has created the account and is using it to send obscene messages on the Internet.

A senior police officer stated that they are investigating into the complaint. The accused is apparently residing in the locality of Swindon, in South West UK, police said adding that they have booked an offence under section 66(A)(c) 66 (D) of the Information Technology Act.

Valanka has been named as his successor by Alemao, who is projecting her as the next Congress candidate from Benaulim Assembly constituency.
