The social networking giant Facebook on Thursday launched an interactive map for its Live Video feature, giving users a window into what's happening in the world right now from friends or on topics you're interested in. The feature is rolling out slowly.
To access the interactive map, users need to visit the new Live Video app is available on the left navigation bar in your Facebook timeline, reports Engadget, or directly visit the dedicated page.
Users can either check out the highly-ranked clips on the left side of the page, or click on one of the blue dots on the digital globe.
In addition to showing where a stream has come from, when you click on a video, it also shows where it's being viewed.
Before Thursday, the only way to know if an account is live streaming was by following that person or brand and waiting for a notification to pop up in your timeline.
Facebook has recently been in the news for reported bias against US Conservative news on its Trending topics section. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with a dozen leading US Conservative representatives on Wednesday, to talk about how Facebook continues to be a platform for all ideas across the political spectrum.
"We have built Facebook to be a platform for all ideas. Our community's success depends on everyone feeling comfortable sharing anything they want. It doesn't make sense for our mission or our business to suppress political content or prevent anyone from seeing what matters most to them," the 32-year-old Facebook founder posted after the interaction.
