Facebook has updated the app settings page on its Web interface, bringing a new design and improved controls for the apps.

Now Facebook users on Web can visit Settings>Apps to find out all the apps that they have connected to their Facebook login. The new layout (first spotted by Inside Facebook on Monday) gives the list of connected apps upfront (see above), and users can edit permissions or remove the apps individually.

The updated Facebook app settings page also includes four other options, namely 'Apps, Websites and Plugins', 'Instant Personalisation' and 'Apps Others Use', and 'Old versions of Facebook for Mobile'.

'Apps, Websites and Plugins' lets users turn on or off the entire platform, implying all third-party Facebook integration. 'Instant Personalisation' allows users to turn on or off the feature, which is currently available only in select regions. The 'Apps Others Use' controls what categories of information people and their apps can bring with them. Lastly, 'Old versions of Facebook for Mobile' lets users control the post audience settings when using older mobile apps.

The social networking giant has been working on a lot of changes lately. Last week, it was reported that Facebook is testing a new feature in its iOS app that lets users schedule the deletion of their posts in advance. Facebook confirmed with an emailed statement to The Next Web, saying, "We're running a small pilot of a feature on Facebook for iOS that lets people schedule deletion of their posts in advance."

Facebook even announced that it is updating its News Feed to help show people more relevant ads by asking them why they don't want to see it. The company added that it will give greater importance to feedback from those people who don't often hide ads.

The social networking giant had previously given the choice to hide an ad from the menu on the top right of every post. With the update, Facebook says that they are going a step further by asking people the specific reason for not wanting to see that particular ad, and that this data will help the company ensure similar ads are not shown to the same user, or others who selected similar reasons for hiding the ad.
