Facebook suffers temporary outage

Users around the world reported inability to access Facebook on Tuesday. While the extent of the outage could not be determined, it was confirmed that the problem wasn't limited to a particular geographical location.

Twitter was abuzz with reports of people unable to access Facebook. While we at NDTV Gadgets were able to access Facebook just fine, we had no reasons to doubt our trusted readers who said they were unable to get to Facebook.

The problem lasted for just over an hour, Tuesday evening IST.

Facebook's outage comes days after Twitter was down for around three hours. The problem was later blamed on a "cascading bug". (See: Twitter double outage blamed on bug)
