Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday inaugurated the Centre for Nano Science Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru.
The centre is designed to provide research and technology leadership in the areas of nano-electronics and nanotechnology, key to the "Make in India" initiative in the field of electronics.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later visited the centre, which is considered to be the most sophisticated and comprehensive cluster of micro and nano-tech laboratories in India, benchmarked against the best in the world, an official statement said.
The Prime Minister also unveiled the foundation stone of the Centre for Brain Research being established as an autonomous wing of the IISc.
He was also apprised of several research activities at the institute and its initiatives in areas such as solar energy, water management, and agriculture, the statement said.
