Realme introduced a new premium ‘X' model back in May, as its first proper flagship in the Chinese market. With the Realme X, the company has tried to incorporate many flagship-level features while still hitting that sub-Rs. 20,000 price segment, in which it currently has some pretty popular phones, such as the Realme 3 Pro (Review). The Realme X is now in India, and while it might lack a true flagship-level processor, it tries to balance that out with a modern, notch-free design, pop-up selfie camera, and in-display fingerprint sensor — all at a very affordable price.

Realme X Summary

The Realme X is a premium offering from Realme, which features an in-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up selfie camera, under Rs. 20,000. It features a 6.53-inch, full-HD+ OLED display that produces good colours and has adequate brightness. The in-display fingerprint sensor also works very well and there's face unlock too, which we found to be equally fast.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC and is available in two variants -- one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and the top-end one has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone runs on ColorOS 6, which is based on Android 9 Pie. The large size of the phone makes it a little cumbersome to use but other than that, the build quality is great and performance is very good. Apps and games run smoothly too, without any heating issues.

The Realme X has a 48-megapixel primary camera that captures detailed landscapes and close-up shots and video recording can also go up to 4K resolution, which is good. The phone does a pretty good job in low light too and there's also Nightscape that helps bring out better details and colours. Battery life is also solid, as we found the phone lasting for a full day with regualr use. Fast charging is also present that helps top-up the battery quickly.

Realme seems to stop no way right now as it has gripped the cord well enough to sustain the momentum that it has created. Realme x is the one which proves it right. Its something that can be stated as the upgraded version of realme 3 pro.Yeah, you read it right. The processor in realme x remains same as that of the one which is found in the realme 3 pro,SD 710 a year old processor yet a powerful one. Adreno 616 makes this one effective for high end games like PUBG,Asphalt9 etc.The 48 megapixel camera (1.7 aperture) coupled with sony imx 586 sensor and a 5 megapixel depth sensor help images at crisp with good dynamic range and the nightscape mode help capture low light images well. The major upgraded elements like 16 megapixel(f1.8 aperture) pop up camera , 6.5 inches amoled display with in diplay fingerprint sensor and the most wanted change micro usb now moved to the type c along with vooc 3.0 charge make this stand taller. However the battery capacity has been reduced from to 3765 mah yet not a deal breaker. Atlast the dedicated slot now has been downgraded to hybrid one which might be a deal breaker for 4GB/64GB variant.Realme X has got all the necessary elements pinned together and has delivered a much promising product.Go for it and you wont regret.
