Mid-range smartphones might not attract as much attention as their flagship or high-end counterparts, but there is no denying that in markets like India, they are in massive demand.
Sony's new smartphone, the Xperia C is the company's attempt to win back some of the market share in mid-range segment it has lost over the past few years. The Sony Xperia C is also company's first tryst with a MediaTek processor.
Can the Xperia C with Xperia's signature design, dual-SIM support, and MediaTek quad-core processor deliver where the company's dual-core devices failed in the same segment? We try to find out.

Design/ Build

Sony seems to be following a consistent design strategy across the new Xperia range - the Xperia C boasts Sony's OmniBalance design, first seen in its flagship phone, Xperia Z, but misses out the rear glass panel and aluminium frames. The front and back of the Xperia C have a smooth finish, though the display is fingerprint magnet. When we said it borrows design cues from its high-end Xperia siblings we weren't kidding, especially the distinctive metal power / lock button which is located half way down the right panel of the Xperia C. The power button protrudes out and was first seen in the Sony Xperia Z, although it's much smaller this time. Further, much like other Xperia handsets, this one also features a volume rocker and dedicated camera button on the right panel, all of which are easy to hit one-handed.

  • good phone
Anmol Bansal (May 20, 2014) on Gadgets 360
Sony Xperia C is a great device with 5" display that provides almost all premium features of a high end smartphone. If we talk about display quality, this phone lightens enough pixels to provide good viewing angles even in sunlight. I am totally impressed with its smooth functioning, premium UI, good battery life, large display size and good camera. I recommend this phone for everyone looking for a budget phone. Have a nice day

  • Never ever buy a sony xperia phone
Priankush Chakraborty (May 31, 2014) on Gadgets 360
Never ever buy a sony xperia phone . Its a total faulty device . I bought an xperia c three months back and while talking to my client the phone suddenly died . I tried to restart it with all efforts ranging from hard reset ( followed the procedure stated at sony mobile's website) but it did not helped . Now i have just submitted my phone in my nearest authorized sony service center and the service guy asked a time frame of 3 to 4 days to resolve my issue without even giving a replacement device to use during that time period ......... And now why i said that xperia is a faulty device because there were other customers with the same issue standing in Que .... and i also went through several similar complaints in the internet about this device ...... I have already lost a lot of clients due to this and i don't want others to suffer ...... I think 'll have to buy another device because the service center guy told me that i case of a hardware fault i will get a refurbished one .......

  • It should be remastered
Philip Michael (Sep 5, 2017) on Gadgets 360
It has great looks . But it has many faults like its android version is jelly bean and its storage is very less. It also hangs in multitasking.
