Salman Khan unveiled the new BlackBerry 'PlayBook' during its launch in Mumbai on June 22, 2011
The Bollywood star was quite excited about the new gadget at hand!
With the arrival of the BlackBerry PlayBook, here's 15 things the PlayBook can do and the iPad can't !
Apple might claim it provides the best web browsing experience possible through the iPad – but that's not strictly true since the iPad does not support Adobe Flash, an optional browser plugin that enables animation and video on the Internet. Enter the BlackBerry PlayBook. It has multi-touch and also supports Flash, which converts to a more pleasing web-browsing experience, albeit on a much smaller screen
When it comes down to multitasking, the PlayBook scores over the iPad. The PlayBook supports true multi-tasking thanks to its dual-core 1GHz TiOMAP processor, which means you could have a 1080p HD video running in the background while composing an Email. While the iPad supports multi-tasking, it is not complete. This means the app hibernates once switched
The biggie – the PlayBook has a native Facebook app, while the iPad can only run the smaller iPhone version as it does not have a Facebook app of its own. Reports do have an iPad app under development, but there has been no confirmation from either Facebook or Apple
Through BlackBerry Bridge, the PlayBook has complete access to the BlackBerry smartphone. You can access the BlackBerry Messenger, the email client, social feeds, and SMSs and even get alerts when there is an incoming call. Try doing that with the iPhone and the iPad. Sadly, however, the PlayBook does not natively support email. The feature may be added later this year

Another brownie point in favour of the Blackberry PlayBook is the fact that it can shoot HD video at 1080p thanks to its 5-megapixel camera while the iPad camera is not even worth mentioning
Unvired Analytics is an analysis application, which is currently exclusive to the BlackBerry PlayBook. It can neatly analyse a company's finance statistics in a jiffy, providing neat bar and pie chart diagrams
Unlike the iPad, the PlayBook comes pre-loaded with an office suite that is a very powerful tool for an enterprise user. The iPad offers multiple options of office clients to be downloaded, but there is no pre-loaded suite
These are the virtual keyboards of both the iPad and the BlackBerry PlayBook. While the iPad boasts of a larger 9.7-inch display the PlayBook's 7-inch form factor converts to a very comfortable thumb typing experience
The Bollywood Hungama app lets users access a truckload of music video, movie clips, stories and pictures. This app is also exclusive to the PlayBook
The Vogue Stylist app is a fashion quiz app exclusive to the PlayBook
The iPad started the comic book craze with its Marvel comics app at launch. Now, the BlackBerry PlayBook also has its own comic book reader. This one has an inherent Indian flavour to it with users having access to the likes of Amarchitrakatha, Twinkle and Chacha Chaudhary
The PlayBook comes preloaded with a copy of Electronic Arts' blockbuster game Need for Speed Undercover
For would-be brides, the PlayBook has an India Bridal application - the first of its kind and exclusive to the PlayBook for the time being. The Bridal app has videos and provides a variety of styles through which the bride can dress-up for her special day
The PlayBook comes loaded with a video streaming application, which has the ability to stream some television channels such as TLC
For foodies there is Zomato on the PlayBook. Zomato is a restaurant searching app that not only provides user ratings and photos of the restaurant but gives you the option to check out the menu. Though Zomato is available for Android smart-phones it is not available for the iPad or the iPhone
